Oman’s Muscat Securities Market-listed (MSM) Galfar Engineering and Contracting has received a “letter of award” for a project covering the construction of cliff road and access road, with the contract being valued at $4.5m (OMR1.7m).

The Omani contractor made the announcement in a stock market disclosure without revealing further details about the firm that awarded the contract of the scope of work for the project.

Undersigned by the firm’s chief executive officer, Dr. Hans Erlings, the company said in the filing: “We will provide all other details later on in a supplementary disclosure upon satisfying the conditions and any other requirements.”

Last week, the contractor had received a letter of intent (LOI) for a contract worth $5.7m (OMR2.2M) covering the construction of recharge dams.

The company is also working on the $7bn (OMR2.69bn) Duqm Refinery, where it recently scooped a $2.3m (OMR 885,503.5) civil works contract for a tank foundation project under sub-package A of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) Package 3 Offsite Facilities.

In December, the company was awarded another contract valued at $75.1m (OMR28.9m) to provide electromechanical erection services for a steel pellet plant in Sohar.
