Tadawul-listed Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has signed two contracts to provide consulting services with Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) on the sidelines of the visit by EETC to a number of compensating stations for inactive power of SEC at three different locations.

According to Saudi News Agency, these stations are located in Jeddah and Madinah.

The visit comes in line with EETC move to know the maintenance and control operations of dynamic compensators, with the visit also covering the SEC Centre for Research and Development in Dhahran Techno Valley where the delegation learned about the Saudi firm’s latest digital simulation technology.

Earlier this month, SEC picked Etihad Etisalat Co (Mobily), Alfanar Construction, and China Electric Power Equipment and Technology (CET), a part of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) for $2.5m (SAR9.6m) smart metring project in the kingdom.

The project covered installation and commissioning of 10 million smart metres for consumers in Saudi Arabia, with the project set to commence on 19 December, 2019.
