Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed construction work on the roads leading to the Hamriyah Free Zone, with the project being carried out at a cost of $19m (AED70m).

In an Arabic-language tweet on its official Twitter account, SRTA said that the project was completed in 10 working months, and was carried out in line with SRTA’s strategy to make Sharjah an industrial and commercial centre, with international infrastructure.

A report by Sharjah24 that is affiliated with the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), cited chairman of SRTA, Eng. Yousef Saleh Al Suwaiji, who said that the project has been implemented under the vision and directives of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Al Suwaiji added the new roads will connect Hamriyah Free Zone to Emirates Road and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
