Arada unveils Zaha Hadid Architects-designed Madar complex
Madar is the first part of Arada's Aljada community to be completed and will serve as the community's focal point
Sharjah-based real estate developer Arada has announced the opening date of Madar, its entertainment complex within its Aljada communities.
Madar is the first part of Aljada to be completed and has been designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Phase 1 of the three-phase development process will be completed on 27 February, enabling Madar to serve as the focal point of the 24 million square foot Aljada community in Sharjah, which is currently under construction.
Madar comprises of a cluster of zones and attractions, which is spread over a 600,000 sq ft area.

The attractions include a food district, a play area, a skatepark, an amphitheatre, indoor and outdoor events spaces and the centerpiece of the complex, the Aljada Discovery Centre.
The area includes more than 5,000 trees and accommodates parking for 800 cars.
Commenting on the upcoming project, chairman of Arada, HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, said: “It has been our aim from the start to create communities that inspire and engage their residents and visitors.
"We are excited to see that vision come to life with the launch of Madar, a place that is already known for its outstanding contribution to heritage and the arts.”
Aljada was unveiled during an exclusive ceremony in September 2017 and construction work began in April 2018, and the first homes will be handed over later in 2020.
