Dubai-based district cooling service provider Emirates District Cooling (Emicool), which is a fully owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments, has implemented the Siemens Demand Flow Solution at its Al Jadaf District Cooling Plant (DCP) in Dubai, designed to generate a significant impact on energy conservation.

The implementation of the project is estimated to generate annual energy savings of approximately 1.629 MWh, with 13.4% savings on annual energy bills, enabling a return on investment in less than two years.

Sustainable in nature, the project is also expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 716 tonnes per annum, according to state-run news agency, Wam

Emicool Technical and Energy Team — in collaboration with Siemens and with ARK Energy, utility, energy, and engineering solutions provider, as project development consultant — achieved the energy optimisation project for DCP 11, implementing the Siemens Demand Flow Solution.

Commenting on the implementation of the project, chief executive officer of Emicool, Dr Adib Moubadder, said, "With this implementation, Emicool’s Al Jadaf district cooling plant will be optimised to make it 13.4% more efficient, which is in line with our strategy to secure sustainable energy supply, contributing to environmental protection through energy and resource conservation and directly impacting our bottom line."

Speaking about the solution, senior executive vice president of regional solutions and services, Siemens Middle East, said: "The [Siemens Demand Flow Solution] project is an example of the significant difference smart algorithms and machine-learning software can make to both energy savings and the longevity of plants and assets.”
