Saudi Arabia’s municipalities of Taif and Asir have taken measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) by spraying disinfectants in public facilities across the regions.

The Municipality of Taif implemented the campaign with more than 3,400 workers and 470 specialised cadre, while the campaign in the Asir region involved more than 6,200 workers and 900 specialised cadre.

In addition, more than 510 vehicles, equipment, and machinery were deployed in the Taif region, while 984 were deployed in the Asir region.

All the workers were provided with training on preventive measures, and wore masks and gloves during the sterilisation drive.

The campaign included sterilising public utilities, neighbourhoods, shops, and roads, in addition to clearing approximately 1,030 waste containers in the Taif region and 14,583 waste containers in the Asir region, according to the state-run Saudi Press Agency.
