The Thailand Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai has marked 55% completion on the entire project, with 100% construction completion on the main structure, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) as the Commissioner General of Section of Thailand Pavilion, Ajarin Pattanapanchai, told Construction Week in an interview.

Currently, the pavilion is "developing the system engineering, interior architecture and building architecture works, and has marked a 40% progress", Pattanapanchai added.

Furthermore, Pattanapanchai confirmed to Construction Week that work on the Thailand Pavilion is "on-schedule".

The World Expo recently announced that it will now run from 1 October, 2021 to 31 March, 2022, and has been delayed owing to the implications of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The change in dates was announced after a two-thirds majority of the Bureau International des Expositions’ (BIE) member states voted in favour of postponing the World Expo by a year.

Once the Thailand Pavilion opens at the World Expo in 2021, it will exhibit a 'Mobility of the Future' theme and present the nation’s hospitality and its capabilities in digital innovation and technology.
