Fujairah completes Phase 1 of 57km internal roads project
Followed up by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Phase 1 of the project covered 15 areas in the emirate
Under the directives of HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah,the Department of Public Works and Agriculture has completed Phase 1 of the 57-kilometre-long internal road network project in the emirate.
The project, which was followed up by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, covers 15 areas in Fujairah.
The Department said that the project was carried out under the cooperation of municipalities of Fujairah and Dibba Fujairah and the Fujairah National Resources Corporation.
Additionally, the project was completed according to highest quality standards to achieve comprehensive upgrades to the road network in residential areas.
Wam cited the director of the Department, Salem Al Miksah, who said that the internal roads project was a part of Fujairah’s new road network.
Al Miksah said that Phase 1 included 10km of internal roads in Dibba Fujairah, Al Tawyeen, Al Qariyah, Wadi Sadr, Muraished, Al Halah, Al Saint, Masafi, Al Bulaida, Al Bathna, Awhala, Wadi Mai, and Al Sarm.
He added that the restoration of several internal roads helped reduce traffic congestion. Additionally, the restoration and maintenance works were accompanied by the construction of several public parks.
The Department of Public Works and Agriculture has been working with its partners to implement Phase 2 of the project to improve the emirate’s overall infrastructure, which will help achieve sustainable development.
