WME to provide engineering services for Marina Mall Abu Dhabi revamp
The consultancy firm will be the architect of record (AOR) and will provide a range of project services
Independent multi-disciplinary consultancy WME has been appointed the architect of record (AOR) and will provide full engineering works for the refurbishment of Marina Mall Abu Dhabi.
Led by the National Investment Corporation (NIC), the $816.7m (AED3bn) initiative will involve upgrading its existing facilities such as the installation of LED screens, the renovation of existing store-front fixtures, and the enhancement of the mall’s luxury area and main entrance.
WME will provide project services for the refurbishment comprise building services, mechanical engineering and structural engineering.
The consultancy firm said that their mission is to upgrade the mall into a “new exciting retail and entertainment destination”.
As well as NIC, the project is also being led by KKD Architects.
As well as upgrades, Marina Mall is also expanding the development of Marina Walk, a 546m-long promenade that will offer 123,000m2 of leisure and entertainment activities, including Abu Dhabi’s first skate park.
