UAE real estate developer Azizi Developments has awarded a HVAC contract worth more than $10.89m (AED40m) to air conditioning and heating solutions provider Daikin to supply high-end cooling equipment for the its upcoming communities.

The contract comprises HVAC systems for more than 35 of Azizi’s buildings in Riviera; Dubai’s new waterfront-lifestyle landmark in MBR City, for Creek Views; Azizi’s 634-unit luxury development in Dubai Healthcare City; as well as for Berton, the developer’s residential development in Al Furjan.

The HVAC system, supplied by Daikin, comprises 72 of its air-cooled chillers, over 10,000 fan coil units and 62 fresh air handling units.

Speaking about the HVAC deal, chief operating officer at Azizi Developments, Afzaal Hussain, said: "This major contract award, which is the latest in our recent sourcing efforts, follows an in-depth analysis of the world’s most prominent HVAC system suppliers. Having carefully studied all options, Daikin has emerged as the clear winner and best-in-class Japanese manufacturer, considering its high-tech fan coil units, air handling units and chiller systems, which all surpass international standards in terms of both build quality and energy efficiency."
