Abu Dhabi's JIIC awards design contract for Jubail Island Phase 1
Infrastructure works worth $108.9m have begun, with home construction to start in Q1 2021 and completion due in 2023
Abu Dhabi-headquartered real estate developer Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC) has awarded a design contract for 16 villa and townhouse typologies – to be constructed within Phase 1 of the $1.36bn (AED5bn) Jubail Island project – to Ramon Esteve Estudio (REE) and EHAF Consulting Engineers.
The designs will include differing floor plan layouts, and serviced plots, ranging in size from 1,200m2 to 2,205m2, meeting market demand particularly addressing Emirati household preferences.
The design themes embrace modern and traditional styles, and the units will units will blend into the adjacent natural environment. The villas will range in size from 145m2 two-bedroom offerings to 820m2 six-bedroom designs.
With $108.9m (AED400m) infrastructure works already underway – having already started in early January 2020, home construction is on schedule to start in Q1 2021 with completion slated for 2023.
In addition, a mix of serviced plots will also be available for buyers to build their custom dream homes from as early as Q3 2021.

Jubail Island is a designated freehold investment zone in Abu Dhabi that will comprise a mix of serviced plots, high-end and mid-range properties as well as retail, office park, and F&B outlets.

Located within the 4.6km2 low-density development, Jubail Island will also feature spacious and well-appointed outdoor areas, including parks, walking tracks, kayaking stations, and cycling routes to provide a welcome venue for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts.
