KEO wins $6m design contract for Kuwait Capital Market Authority HQ
KEO and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates to jointly design 69,000m2 building in Kuwait City, financial authority confirms
Kuwait-headquartered KEO International Consultants has won a $6.2m (KD1.9m) contract from Kuwait Capital Market Authority (CMA) to design its new headquarters.
Spanning 69,000m2, the building will be designed by KEO in collaboration with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, according to a statement released by CMA.
KEO has been appointed as to provide architectural and engineering design services for the headquarters building.

Located in the heart of the capital, Kuwait City, the new CMA headquarters will neighbour the headquarters of Kuwait Investment Authority and Central Bank of Kuwait.
A contract agreement for the project has been signed between Prof Ahmad Abdulrahman Al-Melhem, chairman of the board of commissioners and managing director of CMA, and Dr Abdul Aziz Sultan, chairman of KEO International Consultants.
Commenting on KEO’s appointment, Wael Bahbahanmi, chairman of the steering committee overseeing the design and construction of the CMA building, said: “Last year a design consultancy contract was [floated] for the project and out of the 45 [companies] that took part, four big engineering firms were selected.”
The project's design period will be 16 months, Al-Melhem said.
KEO has worked on several Kuwaiti landmarks, including buildings for Kuwait University and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training.
Earlier this year, KEO was named Consultancy of the Year at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2019.
