Bahrain-headquartered construction and contracting firm Kooheji Contractors has won the main contract from First Energy Bank's real estate subsidiary for a mixed-use project at Bahrain Financial Harbour.

FEB Aqar awarded the contract to Kooheji Contractors after a transparent tendering process, according to statement on the bank’s website.

The contact agreement was signed by chairman of FEB Aqar, Mohamed Ghanem; managing director of FEB Aqar, Fawaz Al Jowder; and chief contracting office of Kooheji Contractors, Abdul Raheem Al Kooheji, alongside managing director and chairman of Kooheji Contractors, Abdul Ghaffar Al Kooheji.

FEB Aqar's mixed-use project will be a 27-storey building comprising offices, retail, and residential spaces.

Enabling works for the project, including mobilisation and piling, began in September 2018 and were completed in April 2019.

According to FEB, the project is expected to complete by March 2021.

Kooheji Contractors has previously worked on Durrat Al Bahrain as civil, mechanical, and interiors contractor for its 160 villas; the $124.76m (BHD47m) Ikea Bahrain; and Juffair Square.

In October 2017, Kooheji Contractors was picked as the main contractor for Eagle Hills Diyar’s 38,500m2 Marassi Boulevard residencies.
