American contractor KBR has won basic engineering design (Bed) and front-end engineering design (Feed) contracts for Algeria’s Rhoude el Krouf Field (RKF) redevelopment project from the country’s energy company Sonatrach and Spanish firm Cepsa.

Located in the south-east of Hassi Messaoud, the RKF field includes an oil and gas central processing facility (CPF) with gathering networks and associated structures.

Under the scope of the project, KBR will add an oil and gas treatment train to the project.

In a statement, KBR said the project is part of Sonatrach's and Cepsa's initiatives to bolster Algeria's oil and gas capacity.

KBR's London and Chennai offices will implement the project over an eight-month period.
