Progress has been made on the Innovation Centre project, part of Dubai's Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (MBR Solar Park), which is being developed as the largest single-site solar park in the world based on the independent power producer model, with a capacity of 5 GW by 2030 and total investments of $13.6bn (AED50bn).

The Innovation Centre will feature an exhibition on solar power and renewable energy to attract tourists, university students, schools, and businesses.

Moreover, MBR Solar Park's Innovation Centre will host a permanent centre for events, conferences, business meetings, training courses, and meetings about solar and renewable energy and other green initiatives and sustainable initiatives.

The project forms part of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's (Dewa) efforts to highlight the latest advances in solar and clean energy.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Dewa's managing director and chief executive officer, recently toured the Innovation Centre site to review its progress.
