Construction updates of Bahrain's Diyar Al Muharraq revealed
Major infrastructure work milestones have been hit on the Bahraini megaproject's Southern Island
Construction progress has been made on Bahrain’s masterplanned Diyar Al Muharraq megaproject’s Southern Island, where infrastructure work is currently being carried out.
The Manama-based developer said the construction of the main road leading to Southern Island had completed, as had work on six 66kV and 159 11kV substations of 11kV.
Fibre optic containment work on existing roads is complete, and road landscaping work is under way for Southern Island, with September 2019 set as its completion date, according to a company statement posted on Zawya.
The project's water distribution station, which has a capacity of 11 million gallons of treated water, is 50% complete, and secondary infrastructure for the Deerat Al Oyoun, Sarat, Al Baraha Souq, Al Qamra, and Al Bareh areas is ready.
Infrastructure work for Phase 2 of Al Bareh is due to complete in 2020.
