Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has completed construction work on Industrial City of Abu Dhabi’s (Icad)Â B17Â Bridge on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Highway, worth $16.3m (AED60m), with the project being built as part of the Al-Mafraq-Al Ghuwaifat Road upgrade package.
The project, which has been implemented in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport (DoT), will serve Zones Corp’s Rahayel City project and Icad.
The new bridge will help reduce bottlenecks in both directions owing to the single lane exit — expandable in future — to Icad, and two outbound lanes exiting to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Highway.
Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) said the Icad bridge complemented DoT’s efforts to provide sustainable infrastructure for commuters in the emirate.
State-held news agency, Wam, reported that Musanada had installed 69 traffic signs and seven guide signs along the bridge, in addition to 199 LED lighting poles holding 340 lamps.Â
The project was implemented according to the vision of President HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the continuous follow up and attention of HH Sheikh Mohameb Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
