Wade Adams wins RTA, Nakheel's $13m Al Khail Avenue road contract
Contractor to immediately commence roadworks that will complete in 2020, in time for the launch of the Dubai mall
Dubai real estate developer Nakheel has awarded Wade Adams Contracting a deal to build $13m (AED114m) of roads and bridges that will become a direct route to Jumeirah Village Circle’s new retail, dining, and entertainment development, Al Khail Avenue.
The developer is fully funding the roads project, for which Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority overseeing construction works.
Wade Adams' work will begin immediately and is due to complete in 2020.
According to a report by UAE state news agency, Wam, the road links will provide seamless entry to and exit from the mall, which is currently under construction.
Operated by Nakheel Malls, the retail arm of Nakheel, Al Khail Avenue will have 350 shops, restaurants, entertainment outlets, and services, and be connected to a 267-room hotel, to be operated as Double Tree by Hilton.
Opening in 2020, Al Khail Avenue will be accessible from communities such as Jumeirah Village Circle, Jumeirah Islands, Jumeirah Park, and Al Furjan, as well as commercial hubs including Jafza and Dubai World Central.
