Shapoorji Pallonji to build Saadiyat's $410m Qaryat Al Hidd homes
India-HQ'd and Dubai-based contractor to work on Saadiyat Development and Investment Co's 16ha homes in Abu Dhabi
Saadiyat Development and Investment Company has awarded a construction contract for the 16ha Qaryat Al Hidd homes, worth $410m (AED1.53bn), in Abu Dhabi to India-headquartered and Dubai-based Shapoorji Pallonji Middle East, which is led by managing director and chief executive officer, Mohandass Saini.
According to a press release, the project team also includes Drees & Sommer for value engineering, technical project management, cost control, and quality management; lead design consultant, B+H Architects Corp; and construction supervision consultant, Khatib & Alami.
The project consists of two developments, named Sunrise and Sunset, and will have 900 luxury apartments spread across 12 buildings, each of which will feature apartments comprising one to four bedrooms.
The development will be part of the 150ha Hidd al Saadiyat masterplan on Saadiyat Island, and is said to feature parks, playgrounds, shops, restaurants, a marina, and a yacht club.
Commenting on the project, Saadiyat Development and Investment Company's board member, Hamdan bin Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said: “The elegant design of the homes, the combination of a natural environment and waterfront lifestyle, a family-focused design, and easy access to Abu Dhabi and Dubai’s business hubs will ensure this development will be extremely popular with end-users.”
