Al Zayani, KPMG, PwC shortlisted for Bahrain Metro Phase 1 contract
RFPs from Deloitte, Gulf International Bank, Lazard Feres, Parsons Global Services, and EY have been suspended
Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication has shortlisted Al Zayani Engineering, KPMG, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) Middle East for Phase 1 of Bahrain Metro.
The kingdom’s Tender Board announced in a listing that the firms were in the running to be named transaction advisor for consultancy services relating to Bahrain Metro’s first phase.
Eight requests for proposals (RFPs) were submitted in response to the ministry’s tender.
Of the total number, RFPs submitted by Deloitte, Gulf International Bank, Lazard Freres, Parsons Global Services, and Ernst & Young have been suspended by the ministry.
The transport ministry had called for bids to provide financial, technical, and legal consultancy services for Bahrain Metro’s first phase in February 2019.
Additional information about Bahrain Metro’s Phase 1 has yet to be publicised, but construction listings website ProTenders lists Idom as the project’s design architect, and infrastructure and feasibility consultant.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs, and Urban Planning is co-developing the project, with Phase 1 to comprise 30km of elevated track and 20 stations, one of which will link to Bahrain International Airport (BAH).
