UK's Wood Group wins contract for Ineos's PDH plant in Antwerp
Wood Group's teams in Reading and Antwerp will deliver project management services for the Belgian development
UK-based Wood Group has secured a contract with Ineos as the programme management partner for its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) project in Antwerp, Belgium, for which SK Engineering & Construction is delivering Feed services.
According to Construction Week's sister title Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East, the contract will be delivered by the Wood’s capital projects team based in Reading, UK, and at the site in Antwerp, with immediate effect.
The report added that the petrochemicals complex was the “first ethane gas cracker” in Europe for 20 years.
Chief executive officer of Wood’s asset solutions business in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, Dave Stewart, said the contract was a “strategically important development” for the European petrochemicals industry.
He added: “This award highlights our commitment to growing our petrochemicals business by utilising our wealth of engineering and operational expertise to help customers design, build, run and improve refining and chemical plants.”
