Dubai-based airport services provider Dnata has unveiled a lounge designed exclusively for unaccompanied minor travellers at Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) Terminal 1.

The lounge has been decorated in vibrant colours and equipped with games and entertainment screens to keep the minor travellers occupied while waiting to board a flight.

Dnata has deployed staff with multiple linguistic abilities at the lounge, which will be open for 24 hours.

According to Dnata, in 2018, its team assisted more than 8,000 unaccompanied minors at DXB, a 27% hike compared to the corresponding number for 2013.

Divisional senior vice president for UAE airport operations at Dnata, Steve Allen, said that the new lounge was designed to meet the needs of children of all ages.
