IDP provides 35 Potain cranes for Egypt’s Al Alamein City
The MCT 85, MCT 205, MC 235 C, and MC 310 K12 models used onsite are configured to heights of 40-180m
International Development Programmes (IDP) will supply 35 Potain-branded cranes to construct an urban development in Al Alamein City on Egypt’s northern coast, where contractors such as Redcon and Red Sea Construction, SIAC Construction, The Arab Contractors, CRC Dorra, amd Orascom Construction, in addition to a joint venture of Hassan Allam Construction and Consolidated Contractors Company are already working.
The fleet of Protain cranes will comprise the MCT 85, MCT 205, MC 235 C, and MC 310 K12 models, which will be used to develop hotels, universities, sports clubs, entertainment outlets, residential units, a business centre, and a scientific research centre within the city.
The cranes began arriving on site in 2018, and are configured at working heights of between 40-180m, with jib lengths ranging from 50-70m.
The cranes work around the clock rotating between three daily shifts, lifting loads from 5-12t, and are expected to be on site for at least five years.
IDP said the project would accommodate a population of more than three million people across an area of 210km2.
