Sheikh Zayed Educational Complex will be built in Chad.

In the presence of UAE Ambassador to Chad, Mohammed Ali Mosbeh Ali Al Shamsi, and director general of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Hamad Salem bin Kardous Al Ameri, President Idriss Deby Itno launched the Sheikh Zayed Educational Complex project in the central African nation Chad’s capital city of N’Djamena.

According to the UAE’s state news agency, Wam, the project is funded by Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and will take 10 months to complete.

Upon completion, the complex will span 2,180m2 and feature 30 classrooms for 900 students from all academic grades, as well as six computer halls and a health centre.

African nations have received substantial support from Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation this year.

This March, Wam reported that it had invested $13.9m (AED51m) to fund the digging of 238 water wells in 12 countries since it was established in 1992, which included 77 wells in Niger, 50 in Sudan, 16 each in Mali and Somalia, 10 each in Kenya and Chad, and eight each in Ethiopia and Djibouti, in addition to seven in Mauritania and six each in Oman and Yemen.
