Unique Contracting wins Tasmim contract for Habitat in Oman

The residential, commercial, and leisure project is expected to be completed by December 2021

Real estate developer Tasmim has named Unique Contracting as main contractor for its mixed-use development Habitat in Al Khuwair near Muscat International Airport, which is expected to complete by December 2021.

According to a press release shared by Zawya, the project is being developed by a joint venture of Omani conglomerate Shanfari Group of Companies and European architecture firm Mandressi, both of which are backers of Tasmim. 

The development will will be used as a “vantage point” comprising retail, residential, and leisure spaces.

Commenting on the contract award, Tasmim’s chief executive officer, Alessandro Daverio, said substructure works would commence shortly on the project. 

He added: “Our teams have embraced the challenge, and our integrated model, involving our design and engineering business, makes us the ideal developer for the scale and complexity of this massive project with a demanding design.”
