Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs, and Urban Planning has opened a tender for companies to build and operate Ras Rayaa Harbour in Diyar Al Muharraq for 25 years in exchange for an annual benefit fee.

The ministry said that the investor would pay the cost of the construction and operation of what it said would be a “modern harbour”.

Diyar Al Muharraq is a masterplanned megaproject that features well-known developments such as Sarat Island, Deerat Al Oyoun, and Marassi Al Bahrain – a joint venture project between Diyar and the UAE’s Eagle Hills.

In a missive on Bahrain’s Tender Board, the ministry said it would close the tender on 4 September, 2019, and open bids on 5 September.

Interested bidders may purchase tender documents online through Tender Board’s portal, https://e-tendering.tenderboard.gov.bh.
