Jordan's Princess Sumaya unveils UN-linked space science hub

HRH Princess Sumaya bint Al Hassan of Jordan has inaugurated the country’s first and the world’s fifth United Nations-affiliated Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education, with the facility set to offer academic programmes in the fields of space exploration in Jordan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the facility will also offer short-, medium-, and long-term training courses in the field of space meteorology, space communications, and weather and atmospheric sciences.

Speaking about the facility, director of Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre and director-general of the centre, Brig Gen Awni Khasawneh, said the facility had been accredited in the Arab countries and its courses would be delivered in Arabic.
