Work on Orascom Development's O West to begin in Q4 2019

The residential development was launched in March, with HOK, Edsa, and AAA+ working on the 6th of October City project

Six Swiss Exchange-listed Egyptian real estate developer Orascom Development, chaired by Samih Sawiris, revealed that construction, mobilisation, and earthworks on its 4.2km2 O West residential project — located in the 6th of October city — would commence in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Launched in March 2019, O West development is valued at $200m.

In its H1 2019 results statement, the company said that it was in discussions with an international school to open its campus within the O West development.

According to information on O West’s website, the project is being designed by American design, architecture, engineering, and urban planning firm HOK, with landscape designing services being delivered by Florida-based Edsa.

AAA+ along with Innovation Design Studios and Ayman Arafa Designs have been appointed as architects for the development.
