Abu Dhabi unveils Automated Rapid Transport, bridging key destinations with futuristic mobility

The preliminary phase of Abu Dhabi's Automated Rapid Transport system will see the operation of 25 stations spanning approximately 27kms

Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has initiated the pilot phase of the Automated Rapid Transport (ART) system on Abu Dhabi Island. This preliminary phase will see the operation of 25 stations spanning approximately 27 km, marking a significant step towards technological advancement in the transportation industry.

In its inaugural phase, the service will be operational from Friday to Sunday, connecting Al Reem Mall to Marina Mall via key routes including Zayed the First Street and Corniche Street on Abu Dhabi Island.

The ART initiative is a pivotal component of Abu Dhabi’s Smart Mobility Strategy. This strategy is geared towards fostering a robust and sustainable transportation sector, leveraging cutting-edge technologies. As per official statement, the overarching goal is to augment the efficiency of the transport infrastructure and champion the shift towards environmentally conscious and sustainable transit solutions.
