Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, has announced the launch of the highly-anticipated Sweihan housing project. The venture is an integral part of the Emirati Neighbourhood initiative and has attracted a substantial investment of AED572.1 million ($155 million).
Spanning across an area of 800,000 square meters, the Sweihan housing project will be a residential hub for the citizens of Abu Dhabi. With meticulous planning, the development will include 204 luxurious villas along with a state-of-the-art community centre. The project will also boast a number of commercial and community facilities, including shopping malls, parks, and two grand mosques. The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has announced that the project will also feature vast green spaces, ensuring a serene environment for residents.
The ADHA has played a crucial role in the development and implementation of numerous housing programs, catering to the needs of Emirati families. Over the years, the authority has provided over 38,000 plots of land, constructed more than 11,000 new homes, and granted over 45,000 housing loans. Additionally, the ADHA has offered exemptions from 3,700 housing loan repayments, demonstrating its commitment to supporting citizens in their pursuit of comfortable and secure housing.
The Sweihan housing project holds a special significance as it is the first to adhere to the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority’s Integrated Neighbourhood Directory.
The comprehensive set of standards and guiding principles ensure that government housing interiors are designed to cater to the specific needs of Emirati families. Each villa within the project feature two majlis, dining and living rooms, five bedrooms, and more.
According to the ADHA, the Sweihan project was developed with the aim of creating a close-knit and harmonious community, offering residents high-quality amenities and services. The project has been constructed in accordance with the latest specifications, showcasing a seamless blend of authenticity and modernity. The villas, while individually distinct, share inviting public outdoor spaces, fostering a sense of camaraderie.
A notable feature of the Sweihan housing project is the incorporation of Emirati national identity, culture, and heritage in its design. The thoughtful approach not only caters to the citizens’ specific needs but also aims to enhance their overall quality of life. The project aligns with the expanding urban landscape of the Sweihan area, catering to the evolving requirements of the community.
