Construction of the Madinat Jumeirah Phase 4 is scheduled to be ‘above ground’ by Christmas.
During a radio interview with Dubai Eye 103.8, Jumeirah Group CEO Gerald Lawless revealed that piling works at the development are complete.
He said: “You will see the building beginning to come out of the ground as we go through the rest of this year. So by Christmas we will be above ground.”
UK-based builder Carillion and its joint venture business, Al Futtaim Carillion, started work on the fourth phase of the resort earlier this year with a scheduled completion date of 2016.
“It is architecturally very nicely connecting the traditional nature of the architecture of Madinat Jumeirah with the more modern aspects of Jumeriah Beach Hotel and the Burj Al Arab so we’re looking forward to launching that,” said Lawless.
The new hotel will add 435 luxury rooms and suties to the resort, giving a total of 1,300 rooms within the Madinat complex.
Jumeirah has 15 properties in its development pipeline, which are expected to open in the next three years.
