China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East (CSCME) announced it has been awarded a $67m (AED244m) contract by Dubai’s Roads &Transport Authority (RTA) to build access roads leading to the Dubai Parks and Resorts (DPR) site from Sheikh Zayed Road.
Spanning 14 months, the contract entails the construction of two-direction ramps to provide access to DPR’s site from the adjacent road network, and grade intersections located on the link between E311 & E11, two of the busiest highways in the city.Â
CSCME’s civil and infrastructure arm will carry out the project.Â
The project also includes the construction of roadway signage and pavement marking; street lighting; landscaping; irrigation ducts; storm drainage; diversion; and, protection of services systems.
“The successful award of this project is strong proof of the company’s good reputation, as well as capacity to win trust from the client,” CSCME said in a statement.
“It marks the company’s solid foundation in the infrastructure market in the UAE.”
Set to open in October 2016, DPR, worth $2.7bn (AED10.5bn), spans an area of 2.3sqm, and is strategically located on Sheikh Zayed Road, close to Palm Jebel Ali between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
