A video in circulation, claiming damages to Abu Dhabi International Airport, has been verified by Abu Dhabi Airports officials.

The video in question has made the rounds on social networking website, Twitter.

Heavy rains lashed the UAE on 9 March, causing significant closures across the country.

In a press statement, Abu Dhabi Airports said: “Abu Dhabi Airports can confirm that there has not been any ceiling damage at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The video in question shows the false ceiling of a food stall collapsing under the weight of rain water.

“A video circulating on social media showing a ceiling collapsing was taken at Sky Park Plaza opposite Terminal 3, and not at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“No one was injured and the ceiling is being repaired.”
