Bahrain’s Ministry of Works awarded contracts for 15 tenders worth $46.2m (BHD17.4m) in April 2016.Â
Works Affairs undersecretary Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat said the ministry also invited bids for four tenders worth $1.3m (BHD486,500).Â
These projects are aimed at improving the kingdom’s quality of infrastructure.Â
The awarded tenders in the construction sector covered the construction of the Dialysis Center in East Riffa at the cost of $16.1m (BHD6,085,000).
Al Khayyat said that tenders awarded in the roads sector covered the construction of the entrance to Block 946 in Awali, worth $585,588 (BHD220,790), and the revamp of W-Link to North Town at the cost of $20.4m (BHD7.7m).
The awarded tenders in the sanitary sector covered the implementation of a sewerage network in Sadad Block 1038 (Phase 2) at the cost of $2.2m (BHD831,814), and the cleaning of sewerage and drainage networks at the cost of $6.97m (BHD2,562,850).
The latter deal was was assigned to 10 contractors with $679,730 (BHD256,285) allotted to each contractor.
One of the four tenders for which bids have been invited include a storm water isolators contract, with a 10 year warranty, according to BNA.
