Revamp works worth $475,676 (BHD179,330) have commenced on the Sheikh Abdulla Avenue in Bahrain.

Bahrain Pipes Contracting is implementing project works.

Sayyed Bader Alawi, road projects and maintenance director at the kingdom’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, said works extend from Sheikh Hamad Avenue to Bab Al Bahrain Avenue in Manama.

According to Alawi, the project is part of the ministry’s plan to revamp roads and maintain traffic safety levels in the country.

The revamp of Sheikh Abdulla Avenue is considered to be a significant project, since the development is located in the country’s capital and carries “historical significance, being the connection between the Western part of the capital and the old traditional market (Suq)”, state agency BNA reported.
