Al Qabdah will implement the development of residential buildings in the urban community, The Pulse, with the project expected to be ready for delivery by mid-2019

UAE-headquartered master developer, Dubai South, has awarded a contract worth $163.4m (AED600m) to Al Qabdah Global Building Contracting.

Under the terms of the deal, Al Qabdah will implement the development of residential buildings in the urban community, The Pulse, with the project expected to be ready for delivery by mid-2019.

The community is located in the Residential District of Dubai South, adjacent to the Expo 2020 Dubai site and Al Maktoum International Airport.

In a statement, Dubai South said that it is expecting the partnership to result in the seamless integration of the latest developments in smart city technology and sustainability into all aspects of the city.

Commenting on the appointment of the main contractor for The Pulse, HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, executive chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, said: “We are pleased to award the contract to Al Qabdah for the residential buildings in our very successful community – The Pulse at Dubai South.

“The concept behind this community is to reinvent urban living. This entirely new and incomparable model puts people first and focusses on affordability while celebrating nature and diverse populations. This combination proved highly successful during sales in Q4 2016, where we surpassed our targets and achieved more than 90% sales.

“In Al Qabdah, we have found the right partners to deliver the true experience of this unique community to our customers,” he added.

Al Zaffin further noted that more than $1.9bn (AED7bn) will be invested in real estate projects in Dubai South ahead the expo. “Of these, half will be made by the master developer while the remaining half will be [coming from] private investors,” he elaborated.

Meanwhile, Samer El Achkar, chief executive officer of Al Qabdah Global Building Contracting, remarked: “One of the most important factors for a unique project [like] The Pulse is a highly evolved sense of design, a fine quality of construction, and a timely delivery.

“We are grateful to Dubai South for their confidence and trust in Al Qabdah. We are confident that the project will be delivered on time and will exceed the expectations of investors and residents at The Pulse.”
