Expo 2020 will put the spotlight on Dubai in the next two years as project awards start to pick up pace, an expert said.

Ravi Wadhwani, general manager at Hira Walraven AC Industry, told MEP Middle East, at the onset of The Big 5 event that he is witnessing “a rush of contracts been awarded for the ancillary buildings, and the residential sections in Dubai South”.

He said: “Infrastructure projects such as Metro 2020 and road expansions are already in full swing. Ongoing major projects such as MBR City, Downtown Dubai, Creekside  and Deira Islands will keep the industry very busy.

“Besides the Middle East region the countries in the Indian subcontinent and South East Asia hold good potential for growth, and Hira Walraven as a company looks to grow its footprint beyond the Middle East region.”

Wadhwani added: “This is also an exciting time for us at Hira Walraven, as we look to open the only Fixing Systems specialized facility in National Industries Park before the end of this year.

“The competence room and the training center have been designed based on the expertise of our joint venture partners Walraven from the Netherlands. This facility will further enhance our manufacturing capabilities for UL listed and FM approved pipe supports, slotted channels and rubber support inserts.”

To read the entire interview, watch out for the The Big 5 Preview feature which will appear in the 1211 issue of MEP Middle East.
