Bahrain ministry reviews progress on BIECC project

The new BIECC project in Sakhir, covers an area of 309,000m2 and will include 10 exhibition halls

Bahrain’s Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority HE Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani paid an inspection visit to review the latest progress of work on the new Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center (BIECC) project in Sakhir.

As per a report by Bahrain News Agency, the inspection took place in the presence of Dr Nasser Qaidi, CEO of the Authority Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions, and a number of officials at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and a number of stakeholders.

During the visit, HE Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani and the Minister was briefed on the progress of the implementation of the project, which is one of the largest projects implemented by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and in line with Bahrain’s 2022-2026 strategy based on continuing to work on implementing major national tourism projects, including the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center in Sakhir.

HE Al Zayani also confirmed that the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority has developed a number of main premises under which many initiatives and projects that would achieve the objectives of the strategy within the timeframe set for it.

The new BIECC project in Sakhir, covers an area of 309,000m2 and will include 10 exhibition halls with a total area of 95,000m2 to host international events and exhibitions.

The new BIECC premises, which is hoped to be delivered by the end of Q2 2022, will also feature a number of meeting rooms and multi-use halls.
