Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has unveiled the Yibal Khuff project, which is its second largest project, with a production of five million cubic metres of gas per day, about 20,000 barrels of crude oil per day, and 235 tons of sulfur extracted per day.

Commenting on the project launch, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said said that the oil and gas industry remains the largest supporter of the national and global economy in general, and that the start of production of the project will meet the increasing demand for oil and gas locally.

He further explained that this project is an example to be followed in the implementation of other national projects, in the midst of what the Sultanate of Oman is witnessing today in terms of growth and the development of construction in every field and field in the renewed renaissance under the wise leadership of HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
On his part, Steve Fimster, General Manager of Petroleum Development Oman, said that this project is a world-class addition to the company’s portfolio of projects, which will provide the Sultanate of Oman with energy, generate revenue, finance scientific research and development in the field of renewable energy, and invest in green energy facilities and infrastructure.
