CW In Focus | Hyperloop at Expo 2020 Dubai and beyond
Latest CW episode explores how the UAE's Abu Dhabi and Dubai emirates are becoming global hubs for hyperloop innovation
With construction set to start this year on the world’s first commercial hyperloop system in Abu Dhabi, 2019 will see the UAE once again flexing its innovative streak.
Construction Week's video will be published at 4.30pm Dubai time on 20 January, 2019. Enable a YouTube reminder for yourself to receive an early notification to watch the report.
However, hot on Hyperloop TT’s heels is California-based rival Virgin Hyperloop One, which opened up an office in Dubai towards the end of last year – its first presence outside of the US. Moreover, the end of November 2018 saw the firm announce that it had joined forces with the team at United States Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The US presence at Expo 2020, which officially opens its doors on 20 October, 2020, will see Virgin Hyperloop One premeire its “ride experience”, one of a number of innovations promised for the American pavilion.
The experience will go further than a virtual or augmented reality ride, with passengers able to feel G-force that is similar to that of an airplane.
In this video, Construction Week’s senior reporter, Jack Ball, review progress on both firms’ ongoing work in bringing hyperloop to the region.
