CW In Focus | Ajman's construction project list grows in 2019
From Ajman Marina to Grand Mall Complex, these are Ajman's most important construction schemes this year
From the $272.3m (AED1bn) Ajman Marina to the $6.8m (AED25m) Heritage District, located close to Ajman Museum, the list of Ajman's ongoing developments in 2019 is one comprising some of the most important UAE construction projects of the year, as this episode of Construction Week In Focus, a bi-weekly YouTube series by Construction Week, shows.
Under the directives of HH Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and the supervision of HH Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, infrastructure projects are rapidly gathering pace to position the UAE emirate as a hub for tourism and to boost the UAE emirate's GDP.
Ajman Real Estate Institution (Aqaar) is building the $217.8m (AED800m) Grand Mall Complex in the emirate, which will include 409 homes, 160 office areas, and 90 retail spaces.
Road projects are also progressing in the emirate, where Ajman Municipality and Planning Department is reconstructing the Rashidiya Intersection at a cost of $40.8m (AED150m).
The intersection will connect Sheikh Khalifa Street with Abdullah bin Aboud and Badr streets to reduce bottlenecks in the area.
Ajman’s Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street and the road leading to Ajman Marina are being developed through an investment of $38.9m (AED143m).
Construction work is also under way on the expansion of a sewage network in Al Muwaihat areas 1, 2, and 3, and Al Talla 2, which is expected to be completed before the end of 2020.
In this video, Ranju Warrier, reporter at Construction Week, outlines the major construction projects to look out for in Ajman this year.
